Overview

Nyam Nyam stands as a vibrant beacon of authentic Jamaican cuisine nestled in Toronto’s east end at 4387 Kingston Rd. This unassuming spot delivers tradition with every plate, focusing on the rich, bold flavors that define Jamaican food culture. For those seeking hearty, soulful meals, Nyam Nyam’s menu offers standout dishes like the tender oxtail served over fragrant rice and peas, and the aromatic curry goat paired with fluffy white rice and crisp coleslaw. These plates embody the essence of Jamaican comfort food, crafted with careful attention to spices and slow-cooked depth.

Visitors often praise the kitchen’s mastery of herbs and spices. The oxtail, in particular, is rich with flavor, tender enough to fall off the bone, and perfectly complemented by the coconut-infused rice and savory peas. The curry goat is another favorite, noted for its tenderness and balanced taste that never overwhelms but teases the palate. Accompanying these mains are traditional sides such as fried plantains and festival, adding a perfect touch of sweetness and texture.

Nyam Nyam’s experience goes beyond the plate. The atmosphere is casually welcoming, clean, and functional, designed for those who prioritize food and service over ornate decor. This aligns well with its target audience—busy locals, food lovers craving authenticity, and those familiar with Jamaican flavors looking for a reliable, no-frills meal.

One cannot overlook the soups, a comforting highlight available year-round. Options like the red peas with beef soup and goat head soup offer rich, hearty flavors that resonate deeply with the Jamaican culinary tradition. Many customers find these soups to be the perfect start to their meals or satisfying on their own.

Overall, Nyam Nyam captures the soul of Jamaican cooking in a Toronto setting—flavorsome, generous, and honest. Curry goat and white rice. My expectations were met. This is my favourite meal which I always get a Jamaicans spots. The lady serving the food was very nice and helpful. The interior decor could use a little work but I didn’t go there to look at the walls….

Excellent affordable Jamaican food in east end , tasty , they know how to cook with herbs and spices . No frills , those who know the spot are loyal .Their soups are very good , doesn’t matter the weather the soup hits the spot, my favorite is the beef and red bean soup. The medium oxtail is only $13 and it’s so good with the rice and peas .

I had such a great experience with Nyam Nyam! My brother had told me they were good, and I found out for myself while hosting an event. We unexpectedly ran out of food, so I went straight into the restaurant and ordered 20 meals on the spot. The person at the counter was so efficient—within no time, everything was ready for me to take back to the event. The meals were absolutely delicious and full of flavor. I’ve since gone back, and the food delivered again. I tried the cornmeal porridge (out of the park, 10/10!), as well as the curry goat and oxtail—everything was excellent. What really stands out here is the service: polite, professional, and fast, which can sometimes be a challenge in the West Indian category. The restaurant itself is clean and welcoming, adding to the positive experience. Overall, NYAM NYAM consistently delivers excellent service and outstanding food. Highly recommended!

This restaurant is awesome! As a new visitor, I find myself coming back for more! On my latest visit I tried the curry goat with rice and peas and coleslaw. The goat was so flavourful and tender, the rice and peas excellent and the sweet coleslaw nicely complimented the whole meal. I wish I had ordered a larger size :). Also tried the stewed chicken and curry chicken which are also very flavourful and a joy to eat. Prices are very reasonable in relation to portion size. Keep up the great work Nyam Nyam restaurant! Another visit today, excellent again. We've enjoyed every meal we've had. Pictures below are a large stewed chicken with rice and peas and coleslaw, and a medium oxtail with rice and peas and coleslaw. You can taste the flavour of real coconut in the rice and peas, very fresh and delicious. Keep up the great work!
